Start Where You Are

Ever Dream Big?

Have you ever allowed yourself to dream, I mean actually dig deep and allow your mind to wander? Focusing in on your true passions, life goals and where you picture yourself in a month or years down the road. Maybe you want a family and a house with a white picket fence or have your heart set on a particular career. Perhaps you see yourself stepping across the finish line of your first race or envisioning how you want to look in the dress you have been eyeing up. If you are any bit like me, you may even dream of traveling to the picturesque place you seen in a magazine or on social media, relaxing in a lounge chair with a fancy drink or hiking 5 miles to an amazing waterfall. I know we all dream often, especially when we need an escape from reality when we are stressed and ready to rip our hair out.

What is stopping you from living your best life?

What is holding you back from taking your dreams to reality? Why do we feel that some dreams are simply just that, a dream…why can’t we achieve it instead? We often envision the finish line first which makes it feel so far fetched, feeling as though we can’t move forward unless A and B happen first.

For example you may wish to run your first race, but feel out of shape and don’t want to begin until you shed a few pounds. Although, you can’t seem to get your eating habits in check and feel the need to research diets and seek nutrition advice, but wait whats this health lingo. I have no idea what 1500 calories and 10 grams of protein even looks like. It can be overwhelming I know. So let me un-complicate the situation, keep your heart on the finish line but take your mind to the starting tape. No time is ever more perfect than now to begin.

My Dreams and Challenges

I have dreamed of beginning a blog for a while now. It has been an ongoing journey of living with Erythropoetic protoporphyria, a rare disease which causes me to be allergic to the sun, that has caused many challenges in my life but also given me the drive to challenge it right back and live a life full of adventures without my disease trying to place limits on what I can’t do. On my journey I have found my true passion and my mission to help others live their best life by removing obstacles and limits they have created in their mind.

My dream began at a conference back in 2014 when one of the speakers truly inspired me, but most of all I thought wow I want to be like her. I want to inspire others, but where do I even begin. She has written several books and was speaking to an arena packed with hundreds of people, I could never do that is what I told myself. I figured I could begin to write about it and start a personal blog, but as usual something always came up and I was just too busy. I allowed my mind to wander and over a year ago came up with the title “Life Lived Fearless, the Adventures of the sun-less girl”.

Are you feeling overwhelmed or fearful….do it anyway!

I then tried to build my blog, got overwhelmed by looking at other blogs (well established) and second guessed everything. Thoughts ran through my mind…too busy, too overwhelmed, lack of blog knowledge and what if it fails. Well guess what, I was only going to fail myself if I never even tried. I realized the perfect day and perfect time was never going to come and no one was going to show up on my doorstep with all the answers I was hoping for with a step by step video. So, I sat down at my computer and just decided to go for it.

Take the First Step

The first step may be a leap or a tip toe but just go for it. Nothing needs to be perfect to start and A doesn’t always have to always have to come before B. It’s your dream, your journey and you can do achieve it however you want whenever. But take that first step and start now, you are exactly where you need to be and no other time is better. Trust me, its ok if you don’t have all the tools or knowledge or resources, you will figure it all out along the way. I made a website and then stared at a blank page like wow what now, so I googled…a lot and took one day at a time. Make your dreams become a reality, no ifs or but’s, just start right where you are now. You are already equipped with everything you need to build and live your best life. I believe in you and know the journey is totally worth it!

What do you dream of? Do you have any goals you want to achieve? I would love for you to share it with me!!

Please share!

It took me a long time to learn that even when your going through the worst of the worst of life you are still exactly where you need to be. And only after you have grown as a person will you get out of that spot.

I am a true believer not happens on accident. What we learn now, as hard as the lesson can be, will lead us to better place. And one day we will be thankful for that lesson.
